Friday, again is double sessions, and we do one session on Saturday.Дo you and your sister always train together? And thatвЂ™s Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday we do that, Thursday is kind of my optional day in terms of if IвЂ™m really tired, do I do a swim, or if I need extras, do I come in and just work on an extra skill, so itвЂ™s kind of an optional day for me. And then we start again between 2:30 and 3, for about three hours, and thenВ come home. And since Ellie finished school a year ago to focus on Rio, we start between 10 and 10:30 now, we do a morning session until about 1 p.m.В and then have an hour or two hour break, whatever we feel is necessary that we need, usually we stay at the gym. Before, it was based mainlyВ aroundВ Ellie becauseВ sheВ was going to school, and IвЂ™ve always grown up doing morning sessions:В at 7 or 7:30 a.m., finishing around 10, going to school, or towards the end Ellie going to school and me going home, and then again in the afternoon. Over this last year my training has changed quite a lot. And then after that I knew I wanted to go, but didnвЂ™t realize how possible it was and what scale of competition it was until the year before I turned senior and I realized it was all kind of getting real. I remember watching the Athens Olympics when Carly Patterson won, that was probably one of the first major championships I watched on TV. It was quite late, I started when I was 7.Дo you remember the first time you became aware of the Olympics? But I immediately fell in love with it and did it ever since. My first club was where you had to bring the apparatus in and out and put it away, so it was very different kind of gymnastics centers than whatВ we have now. So thatвЂ™sВ what got me involved and then I canвЂ™t remember my local club that much. The first time I kind of got introduced to the sport, the reason I started it was because my friend at school did it.В So the firstВ small insight was her do flips and tricks on the playground at school. WhatвЂ™s your first memory of doing or seeing gymnastics? In an interview in late March, before the Olympic team was finalized,В Downie discussed her Olympic experiences, her tricky bars routine, and how it feels to watch her sister compete. Downie was recently named to the Rio Olympic team, along with her younger sister, Ellie, andВ the 'Double Downies' hope to make more history in Rio. She bounced back from 2012's disappointmentВ to claim two European titles on the uneven bars andВ helpВ Team GB win their first ever world championships team medal in 2015.
